(It hurts to be so wrong all the time, I'm sure.)

As for Clooney, I point to his work with the Coen Bros. If he never surpasses his work in O Brother or even Intolerable Cruelty, he'll have done something.

Funny thing, though: If you've seen Three Kings, it basically condemns George Bush I for selling out the Iraqis who wanted freedom. George Bush II's Iraq War could (and probably should) be viewed as the righteous (if terribly delayed) conclusion to Desert Storm.

So...shouldn't Clooney be on W's side in that?blakehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05430444326700437630noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7268985416439660021.post-50762153912994929682008-03-30T17:09:00.000-07:002008-03-30T17:09:00.000-07:00The problem with Warren Beatty was he was famous f...The problem with Warren Beatty was he was famous for his politics rather than his performances as well as the fact that he didn't work enough. He only had one good performance and that was in Bonnie and Clyde. The rest of his movies were thinly veiled political tracts (and some like Reds weren’t even thinly veiled). He was popular with movie critics and the left wing intelligentsia but never really produced decent movies with popular appeal. America doesn’t like to go to anti-American movies, as witness the abject failure of the anti-war films like Stop Loss that are fizzling faster than piss on a hot skillet. Warren Beatty’s exact doppelganger is George Clooney, another no talent commie hack who is celebrated for stupid political movies that don’t really earn squat in real money terms. He works more than Beatty but still specializes in thinly veiled commie crapola. Although the total dollar amount of the ticket sales seem impressive, it is a function of the inflated cost of the tickets. If you went by the actual number of tickets sold, their suckatude would be much more apparent. His appeal is nil when measured in real tickets terms against such giants of the performance arts such as Jackie Chan and Tyler Perry.Trooper Yorkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01978703998566102194noreply@blogger.com
